As a child, I loved to get lost in my imagination. I grew up in a chinese buffet restaurant and had nothing and no one to entertain me but myself. So I played with toys. I read comic books. And I drew pictures. And I ate a lot of food. But one thing that stuck was drawing, art, and creativity. There were other talented artists in my family. They were quite casual about it, but the talent was definitely there and it was inspiring. So, as a child, part of me had already decided my fate. I was going to be an artist. Some kind of artist.
I graduated from George Mason University in 2006 with a B.A. in Digital Art. I got a job as a web designer afterwards and learned the bulk of my knowledge from hands on experience. Nothing like it. I was hooked ever since and I’ve continually been trying to update myself and push the envelope with each project I do. I’ve created websites for restaurants, small businesses, and even for other artists.
One summer, I was inspired by a photographer friend and purchased my first DSLR camera. Photography was such a great medium for me to play with. As an artist, my eye was trained in composition and aesthetics. My favorite subjects of study were people. I was always interested in the eyes and what they conveyed. Headshot photography was perfect for me. Coming into contact with several people in the entertainment industry, I’ve acquired a good eye for what it takes to make a great headshot that will stand out.
